There is a popular weekly morning market at Piégut-Pluviers, which is about a twenty minute drive.
The three nearest cities, all about an hour’s drive, Limoges, Angouleme and Perigreux have attractions for the historian and casual shopper. There are local markets and fine food and wine to sample.

Nestled in the grounds of an old Manor House in the quiet hamlet of Doumailhac, just a kilometer from the charming village of La Chapelle Montbrandeix, where you'll find the town hall, church, and two excellent restaurants.

The setting is ideal for families who enjoy cycling, walking and exploring the varied French countryside. The swimming pool was a refreshing escape from the heat, as was the shaded barn in which table-tennis and darts keep all entertained. It was just a great opportunity to chill out, en famille, in a super setting. There are castles a plenty, villages to explore and wonderful markets to visit."
